Byron Suhterland (Boxing)
Byron has over 14 years of boxing experience, beginning his training in 1995 under Howard Norskog and later under Tim Kelly and Dan Bickness. As an amateur Byron had over 60 fights, winning numerous Idaho State Golden Gloves Championships and advancing to the Regional and National Golden Gloves tournaments many times. In 1998 and 2000 Byron reached the quarterfinal round of the Golden Gloves Nationals and in 2003 Byron achieved his highest finish, winning a bronze medal.
In 2004 Byron began fighting professionally, amassing a 4-2 record, before retiring from competition in 2005. A gifted teacher, Byron continues to train and teach the sport he loves.
Byron and his wife, Ashley, are expecting their first child, a baby girl, in early September 2009.
